We are a mother & daughter flower farmer/floral designer team with a sincere commitment to our clients and the environment. Because we grow, harvest and design on the farm, your flowers are beautiful, chemical free and kind to the earth.
Our pledge to sustainability on our farm and in our design studio:
#1 Economically sustainable - We grow over 85% of floriculture products that we use and source from local flower farmers as needed. We use seasonal flowers whenever possible to minimise the carbon footprint of transporting floriculture material across thousands of miles. We prioritize farmers using regenerative agriculture and those striving to farm responsibly.
#2. Environmentally sustainable - At East Texas Flower Farm we strive to maintain an ecological balance by conserving natural resources to support the wellbeing of current and future generations. It means making a commitment to reduce waste, re-use materials and eliminate products that are toxic to marine life. This means we say NO to floral foam. We are guided by a commitment to zero-waste hierarchy.
#3. Socially sustainable - When we must source floriculture product from off the farm we search for local producers and those who are certified fair trade. We are committed to doing business with farms who ensure growers, farm workers and those involved in the processing of our flowers are paid a fair wage for their labor and expertise. Not everyone in the flower supply chain is guaranteed safe and fair working conditions. This is unethical and unsustainable.
Who are we?
Melanie - Her floral design training began in 2013 being mentored by California floral professionals. In 2017 she was able to realize her dream of owning a flower farm. This opened up the ability to grow her own blooms using sustainable and organic practices. Her flowers are beautiful, healthy and robust, capable of meeting the demands of wedding work.
Erin - Brings her years of study at S.C.A.D. and passion for art to the design side of the business. Her florals are always a stunning interpretation of each couple’s personality and style. From dramatic floral installations to small elopement ceremonies, her expressive artistic style is unmatched.
